THE END

THE END

Its official.
I’m jobless. [Party horn sound] Ten years ago I started making Youtube videos for a Hong Kong based retail of air soft guns
called RedWolf airsoft. I didn’t appear in the videos.
I just shot the videos. Oh oh what company is this?
I can’t tell. I mean could you put enough
branding on that video? So that was my first video. I wasn’t in the video. I’m not blonde as you might have figured out. Airsoft Surgeon I must add that he’s not real surgeon. So if you see this guy near a heart attack, don’t call him. You’d be dead. As really there I found my passion for making videos it’s just i didn’t have a passion for airsoft guns. But then seven years ago DigitalRev happened. What actually happened was, I applied for roll of editor. Blanked the interview, went to the interview. Told them my interest was actually in making videos and that the future is not about overly commercial content. It is about creating unique, entertaining content.
And for some reason it worked. You see life is all about taking opportunities. Getting your foot in the door. But sometimes it’s about jamming your bloody foot
in the door and creating opportunities for yourself. But anyway, those early videos…
They were challenging,
they were fun, they were exciting. It was mainly me shooting myself,
editing them myself, everything myself. Just me and myself… …and I. Anyway fast forward today. The last video I shot for DigitalRev TV
was a Canon 5D Mark 4 review. Which I went Hong Kong to shoot part of.
It was a holiday. And it was great filming with the guys.
And especially my bro from another mo, Lok. Good times Lok Hey The decision was just made yesterday. There were no fights.
No fistycuffs over cold cuts of meat. In fact I like a bit of prosciutto. But I wish DR well. I mean they gave me a platform
for me to perform, to create stuff. And now carry on creating stuff.
Albeit without me, with their current team. And I’ll carry on creating stuff by myself.
And I’d like to thank DR for giving me that chance. And everyone, everybody that I worked with:
it has been a pleasure! Anyways… Seven years on and things aren’t different.
And I’ve got a new challenge ahead. And I’ve got a desire to make it work. To create.
To do fun things. Just like ten years ago.
Just like seven years ago. I start from scratch. From the beginning.
But this time with a new channel. This channel. But making living out of it? Funding?
None existing at the minute. Will I have to do things for money? Yes. Within reason.
We’ll see. Anyway, let’s focus
on getting the content out first. I am to get one feature out every week.
Maybe some bite size content. In between that would love to do
some tech videos. Would love to know you know your thoughts also.
After all it’s all about the community. For me photography is not just the act
of taking the photo. It’s about the lead-up,
the preparation, the journey… The fun and enjoyment of all.
The photo is just the end result. Today I’m on the first step of a new journey
and I’m gonna share that fun goodness with you.

Sony A6600 Review: Better than the A7 III?

Sony A6600 Review: Better than the A7 III?

Hey it’s Andy from Digital Camera Warehouse, and this.. is the Alpha 6600, the new flagship APS-C camera from Sony. Let’s find out what’s been improved and how it compares to the popular A7 Mark III. Can the new A6600 beat one of the most popular cameras of 2018? Yes it can…and no it can’t… it’s kind of complicated. We’ll get into
that. The A6600 now uses the FZ 100 battery, as opposed to the FW 50 batteries that are used in the rest of the A6000 series. Which means longer shooting times, no need to carry around as many batteries but more importantly creates a much bigger, beefier grip that is more comfortable and is better balanced when shooting with longer lenses. The camera also has Sony’s new…. MEOW… Do you mind? Oh okay. The camera also has Sony’s new Evolved Eye-AF and Animal Eye-AF in the stills mode for sharp portraits of people and pets. As you can see it’s pretty good at following people. Eye tracking has been improved compared to the 6500 and now it can be activated by just half-pressing the shutter rather than having
to hold a custom button. A feature carried over from the A6400 is the
‘My Menu’ function. This allows you to create a custom menu, saving you time trying
to find what page that setting is on. If you’ve shot outside with the 6500 on
a bright day you would have noticed that you can’t boost the brightness of the screen
when shooting 4K, but that’s not the case with the new camera.
I don’t know if new battery or an improved processor… to be honest I got no idea, but
they fixed it. It looks like any overheating issues have
also been resolved. I shot 4K video continuously for over an hour without the camera shutting
off. I did see the overheat symbol at around 58
minutes, but the camera did keep recording. The A6600 also adds a headphone jack for monitoring
as well as a customisable for a grand total of four customisable buttons.
And while we’re talking buttons, they’re now more tactile and they make this satisfying
clicking sound. Is that a weird thing for me to notice? Sure…..but does it make it
any less satisfying…no. Okay. So let’s talk about the elephant in
the room, and it’s this…..the Sony A7 Mark III. Sony’s ‘entry level‘, full
frame mirrorless. The biggest difference between the two is
that the 6600 has an APS-C sized sensor whereas the A7 III has a full frame image sensor.
In general, full frame sensors collect more light because they’re physically bigger,
but APS-C sensors and lenses can be more compact and more portable because they’re smaller.
Also generally speaking APS-C lenses are cheaper than their full frame equivalents.
One competition the A7 III definitely wins, is being able to record on two cards simultaneously.
Because the A6600, only has the one card slot. Personally, dual cards slots have saved my
bacon on more than one occasion, so it’s always nice to have the option. The A7III has more controls with a joystick,
front and rear dials as well as a control wheel on the back.
The A6600 has a rear dial and a control wheel. But Sony have introduced a new ‘my dial’
function that allows you to set a custom button like the C4 button for example to instantly
change what settings the rear dial and control wheel adjust.
The A7III does has more phase detection points with 693, where the A6600 only has 425.
So, at this point you may be thinking, the A7 III is the clear winner here? But I told
you it’s not that simple. The a6600 has some features that the A7 III
doesn’t… for example The Flip Screen. The LCD screen flips around
180° which is perfect for selfies, for vloggers, for youtubers, whereas the A7 III, that screen
doesn’t flip around at all The screen on the 6600 also tilts down an
extra 30° allowing you to get better over the head shots. If you’ve seen our video on the Sony A7r
Mark IV you’ll know how impressed we were with the real-time tracking autofocus, unfortunately
it’s isn’t available on the A7III and also from what Sony tell us, it won’t be
coming in any firmware updates. But it is on the A6600, and yes it does work
in the video mode. All you have to do is touch the screen to
set a tracking point and the camera keeps it in focus no matter whereabouts it moves
in your frame. Just like the A7r Mark IV, the Eye-AF on the
A6600 can be used in the video mode, which is great news for vloggers and youtubers.
It’s not just useful for taking selfie style videos though, it’s also just great for
capturing sharp in-focus shots of people, making the camera an excellent choice for
shooting weddings or events. This is taking longer than I wanted it to.
Okay let’s just really quickly go through the rest of the advantages you get when you
purchase the A6600. One. It has an easier to understand custom
key setting menu which means you can actually see the button that your changing as opposed
to looking at a list of buttons which is just kinda confusing
Two. It has no recording limit. Three. ….. I forgot the third one.
And the third one is that it has a new touch shutter function which means you can touch
to focus and trigger the shutter release. Okay so overall the A7III and the A6600 are
both incredibly capable cameras and they each has their own list of Pros and Cons.
It’s hard to make a call on which one is better because honestly they’re both good.
If you shoot more low-light sort of stuff, enjoy more controls and dual card slots is
a must then I would lean towards recommending the A7 III but if you prefer more vloggy, youtubey style
things or your want to put the camera on a gimbal that’s when I’d recommend something
more like the A6600. I hope if nothing else this video helps to
explain some of the differences between the two cameras. If you have any questions leave a comment

Toy Camera Challenge

Toy Camera Challenge

this year 2019 just in case you're watching this in 2020 is the tenth year since I started making videos with Locke and instead of having cake we got together to make this very special video for you guys and girls but before we start this video was sponsored by Skillshare an online sharing community with thousands of classes where you can learn more about photography videography or other creative skills as well as teach your own lessons from photographers you know what they can do give them a carrot and they can pull off the shot under pressure give them a cheap camera they can still do the same but instagramers are who we look up to now no not this kind the one obsessed with their own image but the serious photographers the social media stars the sizable following because of their passion for images and in this vid we have six street under AKA crepe Whitehead who has a master healthy load of followers on the insta with over 180 K feet and the time of recordings vo who appreciate the unique visuals he creates on the street and in this vid we can have a sneak peek into how he creates those photos for insta now I mean before it was about you know just taking phones selfies with your phone posting at Instagram but now it's about having good gear the skills good shots but the question is how much of that is gear Herot of that skill because we've got a little challenge for you today mr. mr. six tree under there we are feast your eyes on this beauty the technology with net L lens coloured bodies perhaps light-years away from the camera tech we see these days it is the complete photographic package for a four-year-old let's have a little look at what he usually shoots with this there's an m10 or 35 some cons I mean the work cooked for me is is the Fuji that's what I'm kind of known for that's this is a recent addition look at plastic that that has been used a lot that's shiny that's so shiny you polish that off then dropped a couple of time I bet this wasn't gravy fall it's just the tool isn't it at the end of the day the bit about the gear that matters the most is that you know what it can do you know how it's going to react if you point at this or that you know you can react quick enough with that it doesn't really matter what it can do as long as you know the functions and this is 20 no 24 megapixels this is 24 megapixels that's enough right in fact that's too much so what we've done is just stripped it down that's 2 megapixels no cropping I'm sure you don't crop much anyway but look this is this is overkill this is what you need today yeah I mean the main thing with us I was just finding out how is it gonna react in different like what kind of shutter speed are we getting out of this what's the focal length if you haven't gathered sixth Street under street photographer it's all about stealthiness that's why I like her that's why Fujifilm there we are anyone's gonna pay attention to this so you could walk into any private space no one's gonna take it but let's see we'll see let's see what looks like when it's put apart to your face there's no oh yeah when I bought this it came with four batteries and they're corroded because it's been in the store for so long and I bought a Half Price it was the original 60 pounds 30 pounds 60 pounds for that 30 times like a great deal that is cheap we could almost call it as a cheap Karen challenge but this would be a bit too close to something else that we've done before a lot so let's just call it a toy Karen challenge fully waterproof as well I mean waterproof eyes and you can spit on it not like divers there's lots of fountains around we could try something out with that yeah that doesn't seem like it's gonna hold up to you get really annoyed by you can you know urinate all over and you'll be fine you can still continue taking shots or do you just have a Karen Durst knows a bit of yeah pure oil I'll definitely keep people away from you there it's got some games built-in isn't it yes it really does a shitty job with the photos you can just sit down somewhere and play some games now you got everything okay WPS fool don't bother waiting for the PS by because there's this it kind of fuses Nintendo switch with Commodore 64 quality shit if we see Craig playing with the games it's probably because he can't take using the camera anymore does your like it's definitely lacking there's a market there it's a TIE fighter gaming actually surprisingly little lag on the screen to see what the shutter legs like all right how do I play that back that's their playback ok just adjusted to megapixel better than the first digital cameras they're around Shorry so and this is this is built into a storm troopers head storm trooper has been decapitated just for your peril I think I know what well want to test this first so well-well go something a bit darker Oh off we go to the dark side I think this is like a 50 I'm genuinely think it's about a 50 I can't see the screen so washed out with this light on the back of it I have no idea what's on the screen 50 millimeter no screen well it worked at cartier-bresson but now a Craig's moment of decisiveness gonna take a bit of waiting for this one isn't it yeah it's got the most delicate shot button it's like instantly just takes the shot so you're not just into like people when things like that a lot of your stuff is or tree lines and shades yeah I mean I'm not the kind of sweeps over this using kind of a wide angle and just hoping for a weird moment to happen I can't be that unproductive it frustrates me to sort of the whole idea of walking around for you know whole day and get nothing I'm kind of building the image a lot more of the time oh there's some delay there isn't it I'd like to kind of build the image but I'm totally you know open to whatever is going to happen on the street that day so I will kind of in between building these frames and getting shots just yeah maybe something completely random happens and I catch that as well yeah getting their timing on this is going to be tricky it's coping with the delight no problem it's the but yeah there's some serious lag I'll take that I'm not gonna get another suited guy like that with any kind of delay way too a lot of the time do you spend just time waiting for for shorts that happen yeah or there's a common point where it's like okay two hours it's forget it I won't tend to not kind of wait more than maybe half an hour for something and if it's something that's on especially if it's local to me if it's something that I can could just come back to the next day I might only do five minutes and think you know I'll put this on my route and just go to those spots first say five minutes a time every day until I get something I want to know how long you waiting for that naked lady to pass fully in full-on naked this shop your luck it was ten minutes they're just you know getting people passing silhouettes that kind of thing and then I look to my left and their new naked ladies ooh so it's good a time of any to head off and Craig is starting to warm to the trooper cam it's very ergonomic is easy to hold its light great rub you quit it's not it's not that bad ergonomics it could be better than like her it's Rihanna it's got better gritty see I could carry this all day you don't need to worry about strap is so light but what it is it's I'm actually kind of surprised not talked about but we haven't seen the images either screamed they look good on here but this screen is like 640 set the screener what seriously technical reviewers like DP review might describe as having kingship resolution it's small and not very detailed it gives you a very rough idea of what you're going to get you've just got okay so where are you taking us now you know this is like your your Street steel come here to take photos by often you know the spots are not kind of in this location I guess not this isn't an area I walk all that often every now and then but it's something with all the brutalist architecture that you've got nice clean lines it's really graphical so I was assuming something pretty low resolution is going to work better to just keep those scenes nice and simple do you like tourists like tourist hotspots that's because I like Trafalgar Square and time and places like that because you've got some infectivity and people were doing really weird things you catch people off-guard a lot and don't even know if it's on now is on is it off is it on is of hard to tell but that actions definitely on but Craig I think the shot here would be waiting for him to come back up and it's just his eyes framed up underneath the bars as he kind of realizes here they're waiting but don't know how long he's gonna be down there for fYI II wasn't spider-man just some construction worker just have to kind of think ahead with what elements you've got to work with what's gonna be the more interesting kind of moment things like if I were shooting normally I probably would hang around for it and just he's not gonna be there forever you're always looking at to pre-visualize the shot you expect something to happen or it's it's the mistake a lot of people kind of new to street make is they see those really crazy unexpected moments they think wow how did that person ever react in time to catch that well they probably didn't they saw two or three things happening and he's that they've seen a similar situation before or they just imagined this is how the scene is gonna play out and then when it did they were ready people are predictable they're they repeat themselves all the time the amount of times I've seen someone do something once missed it and then raise the camera up knowing that they're gonna do it again with that in mind Craig takes us to somewhere where there are predictably more things going on it's not always about seeing a subject therefore Craig he spotted some nice light potential for bold shadows and silhouettes know all he has to hope for is the camera to play ball buggers like there's like thirty shots what is your answer other batteries that's why it's half ice wouldn't spend 30 pounds on batteries today oh and you have to serve the time of day again every time the batteries die in after setting them up it's time to give it another go we go from the air Marcus that would come back waiting for the shot of course not to get some sourdough bread a patient knows that potentially something can happen there and there'll be a winning shot just gonna hang here it's guaranteed just seem where the the kind of subject for the silhouette came from you know they're gonna go back to the same spot she came out of the market still eventually someone's gonna walk down that little gap anyway because the cash point you know it's gonna happen but something else happened first well everything's gone green now okay we got color filters look there's like oh hang on that's different I think we've got I've got one from here and we can move on I mean with this there's only so much better a different subjects going to make the shot yeah halfway there starting to regret the gear creak I found the quick playback it's actually quite well thought out you just press up and you can just you can review the shutter straightaway and a half pressing about this camera industry take note so how you finding the camera so far you just saying it's really easy to use the playback yeah if you just want to just check if you actually got the timing right because the delay is insane pretty user-friendly that's it isn't is I guess it's designed for kids to use kids can use it and always can use it too if you see anything that's gonna hold you back a little bit you know this day and age 2 megapixels a little little constraining but if it was less delay and better resolution are you getting used to the delay though is this all just still a bit I need to I need to time it in my head with someone walking to actually know how long the delay is the idea is just get static seems like that weirdness going on what is that prison for construction workers oh really shit Village People tribute act live show by the color so we've delivered with the limitation of the camera you kind of have to adapt by shooting a bit different yeah you're not gonna shoot sports with this you're not getting a high frame rate but yeah it doesn't feel any different than the manual focus on like a film camera you just slow down and you you do workshops you do Street focus street photographer crops ya know if somebody asks you okay what cameras will I get would you recommend or what how would you recommend they go about the more important thing is the focal length any camera you buy now regardless of resolution or that kind of thing to a point is good they're all going to do the job it doesn't respect for street more than anything like if you're a sport photographer or doing portraits or other types of photography maybe there's some other things to consider but for street anything it really doesn't matter primes or zooms I normally carry around a couple of different focal lengths though but I do prefer Prime's size and weight is part of it I mean if I carried around a zoom I'd probably find that I was always using about 50 ignoring the rest of the focal range and just carrying around a heavier lens for nothing so I think people get bogged down in in the gear stuff like looking at everyone's reviews and this and that and they forget to just look at the shots that they really like I thought you'd say don't look at the reviews doesn't say hold on living washi for years but the thing that stopped watching wait that's it always mattered in the end was looking back at that the work you admire and that kind of framing and seeing Reiko they shot with a 35 okay that's how I want to work I'll go with the 35 are you finding that people aren't really caring too much then using this camera I mean people are in their own world anyway they don't normally notice anything you're doing it especially with this the pointer finger who's that weirdo yeah why is he crazy walking around taking practice what they're talking I really want to bring up to my eye like I want to cut out the light and and see what I'm getting but Koh Samui they got a lovely Beach and Hong Kong they've got nice beaches kind of nice beaches you think UK doesn't have nice beaches boom there's one London looking at you lay down there's a sandy beach as well it's some sand on the beach yes I'm sent and I'm sure that's an incredibly clean Beach I'm sure this kind of beach it's so dirty if you just lie down you might like catch I eats or something no sure that's how it maybe maybe not no I mean you'd probably catch something you think of false information also but also mMmmm our vaccines don't work as well so Kraig looks down low up high looking for lines and shapes but nothing unfortunately this isn't gonna cut it it's older shapes yeah it's very clean what were you looking for right there you'd need the subject I mean spotting the frame and then the guy over the hat in two seconds later if he had made a beeline for those stairs then I would have gone back he would have had an interesting shape there to play in that frame but it was just a shot of some nice architecture and some light which not enough for me could it be that this toy carrier challenge is a step too far has Kraig given in oh there we go this is pretty dangerous and I'm gonna save the battery typically how much of your work involves or how much post-processing do you do not much for me you spend more than a couple of minutes on the shot and you I get I think about I'm into that point where I'm trying to make something out nothing there's not really anything that needs doing you may be I'll straighten something I'll do the basics and just a color and kind of down street is is probably one of the maybe even the only genre where that that makes sense there's a lot more post process involved in any other area the street you know it's a good shot or it's not I think I saw your comment on Instagram that you made on some manufacturers Instagram page on a post and you said that's definitely been photoshopped in I people just don't bother calling that stuff out they get in big hubs do a lot as well they don't bother investigating a little bit further they see something they see an interesting shot in the law that's great and they don't bother actually following through to the page and looking and finding the artists themselves saying it's a college like this is not a real photo so free photography hubs are doing it a lot yeah here we are Trafalgar Square this is a favorite spot yours I'd like to spend a bit of time it anytime we're in London I hang around forever square it's an easy one to kind of go overwhelmed because there's so much going on I think is that crank dependence appointment time Winnie arrived so it seemed like this just kind of weighing it up and seeing where potentially the good shots are it's not just all about boom take shot boom boom straight in there straight in there that's not to sign somebody with good eye I do kind of like this it's a bit like shooting film I've got no idea what's in it I did they don't care they don't seem to care I mean doing something like that I don't even know if he looked at me I was looking at this which I couldn't see any way I can see why some people put Hello Kitty stickers on their likers that probably helps paint a pink no no that's not good color so fluid with it now it's just just like it's become part of you of one become I've gotta say it's it's it's not a bad if they sort out the the the delay that lag press these place to make it so more dramatic use place be like I know we haven't seen the results yet yeah it might all be terrible but yeah we couldn't afford to fly you to Hong Kong low budget hot you back this is the closest we can get oh no that's not every day I mean this is something I've I've never been fortunate enough to come along and see while those around in to get exactly the same shot as everybody else Craig seeks to set himself apart looking for those little things others might not pay attention to the right kind of enthusiasm that gets good shots is not enthusiasm about the gear using it's just refused he hasn't about your subjects and and these things are visual interest you know it's just it's just capping out what you think for them like a bird of prey up I mean this is an easy one the guy's got a blue shirt on you know he's gonna do the same thing another five six times with all the rows that are up there you just have to wait couldn't even see there were this two megapixels there's not much room to the screen doesn't hold up very well if there's any sunlight around I've gotta say you really struggle to see anything that's on me oh it's on like an old like large-format yeah I can't focus my eyes that quite you look like a mask the glow you're wearing it okay so you're still taking photos yeah yeah so anyway do you enjoyed it it's actually not that bad well the games the games the games are an added bonus but it's it's not terrible now do you think any of them are worthy of publishing because before we we did cheap Cameron challenges so I don't if I can say that lets believe that oh we did 80-count challenge damn it said it again low-priced reason we we take for you we used to do a reasonably priced camera challenge but we never asked them to published photos would you publish any of these photos do you think any of these photos the content the situation that was going on 100% there's been stuff that that I definitely would I would post but we have to kind of see the results oh no I don't see why not what kind of how many likes do you would you say is like a kind of below-average like when you look at you think oh that's if I see it on my other son Bobby I like anything less than kind of 5,000 is no okay not holding its own that well how many like sitting list again we'll see I mean a couple of the shots again the content was was good do you think anybody's going to unfollow you for this no no I think people people follow me know that I'm not tied to tied to the game so they'll they'll understand it they'll get it so cities like Syria the serious part is is that I mean it doesn't really take a really top character gate get a nice-looking short that no you just got to work within the confines of whatever whatever this can do if you look back 50 60 years some of the old masters shots with manual focus on a film camera that was like one frame a second so if they could do it back then with with all those constraints why can't we do it so what is the most important thing about getting a good shot for you everyone will learn a camera you give everyone the same camera everyone's going to learn how to use it the only difference between the images is what you decide to point the camera out that's that's what matters this doesn't you know once you get to a point where you're happy enough that's fine and then you just go out and find something good to point the camera boom there we are I am looking forward to seeing this on your Instagram feed you've got I'm excited today I'm interested X 160 thousand followers over a hundred sixty thousand I see when it drops to when some of these go we'll let Craig have a moment of these games it's not like he gave up in fact he's taken the challenge with both hands were the cameras to grips after all anyway let's have a look at what he got from the stormtrooper cam here they are what do you think his photography has gained him follows because of the dedication towards the craft which becomes blatantly obvious when you see him at work with a toy cam he's always prepared with a concept of good shot in his mind shots don't always present itself on the plate but like any good street photographer he hunts down those potentials he waits moves around studies every possibility the toy cam has been a challenge but hasn't changed the way he works and thinks about photo and dad is important in making a great photo the images may lack the clarity of extra pixels but the quality of the work is crystal clear thanks for watching hope you enjoyed that don't know for making no one would you think we'll see right but before I say Thea this video was sponsored by skill sure if you want to learn 5 Reasons the BMPCC 4K is the Best Video Camera

5 Reasons the BMPCC 4K is the Best Video Camera

if you just getting started in the world of filmmaking there is one carrot oh one Karen right now that I think you should get and it's this one let me tell you why yes it's the black magic design pocket Cinema Camera for case something you spotted it in the previous video and wanted me to make a video about it I've been trying one out thinking about getting one and I think it's fantabby dozy that's goodbye wave so here's five reasons to love the new Blackmagic pocket Cinema for cave but first a shout-out to the sponsor this video Squarespace the place to go for setting up your own domain website or online store it doesn't actually really matter what kind of carrying yeah but it's just that a lot of cameras these days focus on photos and videos this doesn't focus on photos are always just focus on video in fact it doesn't even really focus on build quality because this is quite a plasticy body it feels like those I were sound systems you get from the 19 million tees with the flashing lights this doesn't have a flashing noise it has a tally light but no flashing lights unfortunately no graphic equalizers just a pure 4k video shooting machine and that's all that matters right well nothing prepared me for the plastic eNOS Evert crazy and also Blackmagic Design pocket cine Carol pocket I'm pocketable for who the t-rex and also just buttons and switches and everything feel like it came straight off that I was stereo system now it's talking about I mean look it up who uses switches why these these days though when it's got flap here oh oh guess what guess what people be internet it's got two card slots lucky you lucky lucky indeed for those slots nuts but as well as SD NC fast you can add an external SSD for those who want content or just two slots and if we've got Mike headphone HDMI power USB and exelon I mean I can't even put this back all these port covers but it doesn't matter it's all about what you do with it as they say it not what not how cheap the cameras yeah finally finally after about two hours I got that back in but all that super cheap cheesy tackiness is all reason to love it because it's lightweight it's not as heavy as a jet fine it's lightener jh5 God's sake I don't know whether it will be robust it's definitely not going to win any awards for its styling but for video user has pretty much what you need at your fingertips so no more fussing about the design please all right now let's switch on to see what's made of other than plastic of course that's still kind goods back ok let's switch it on boom takes a couple of seconds to switch on about three or four seconds that is one massive screen I mean it's all about screen now this has got a micro 4/3 sensor so you can use micro 4/3 lenses make sense right and it's a touchscreen which makes using it incredibly easy ok let's set up that massive 5-inch touchscreen is nice and easy to use if I have any complaint it's that you can't tilt it I'm not talking about vlogging screens but even a tilt for waist level shooting would be nice the menu on this is one of the best I've seen it's so easy to use it's self-expansion I don't even need to explain it to you I'm gonna I'm just gonna show you the menu right now Wow full rows you've got HQ 42 LT well I'm pretty much just reading whatever is on the screen right now at least have designed the interface well this is probably the easiest cine camera to use it's easy to use than some consumer cameras and that makes the whole process of getting into using cine care is that much less daunting in fact if you step up to the Ursa mini which is not so many either or the joke is a black magic you'll find a cheapo buttons and switches a familiar sight but also the interface is the same it has more features but isn't too much more difficult to operate and those are saying cuz this is not a photo camera that also takes good video and all the buttons are just dedicated for video use it makes sense it doesn't have any mode dial or any buttons that share functions look it's got button just for high frame rate you can switch from 25 fps to 60 FS just like that of course it we still have 180 degree shutter there's also a button dedicated to punching in to check focus of that big screen and right peaking on obvious enough so you just switch that shoot high frame rate and the corn BAM if only all cameras could switch from normal frame rate to higher frame rate with one button press so easily the world would be a much better place you've got most of the video features you need at the press of one button so we've got three function buttons here on the top but this one is for false color this one is for year LUT you can put your Lutz straight on to this which you can preview just by pressing that button and then the third one third ones frame lines those free function buttons are customizable to do what have you wanted them to do well I'm part of making you a cappuccino not that much cool then obviously you've got three more buttons here I so that's the shutter degree angle white balance if you're not using a lens with is it can look a bit shaky understandably but if you have a firm grip and wide angle it looks quite arrive it helps the rolling shutter is quite reasonable in this okay enough of does making me feel dizzy and one useful thing is that I can power it by AC power so you see you see DC incredibly useful yes given that I could barely get an hour of usage of the carry on one fully charged LP e6 battery yeah there's a lot to like about the Blackmagic pocket camera city pocket Blackmagic pocket Blackmagic pocket Cinema a 4k BMD pcc 4k is the most ridiculous acronym ever the acronym is longer than most carry names for though the Blackmagic pocket Cinema 4k yeah I got it right it's a fantastic ever it's got a little tally light there tally light and I've hooked up today at most ninja because I don't know if I'm focus or not it does autofocus but not continuously but the speeders well you're probably full of sleep while waiting for the thing to focus properly it is exactly as the name says it shoots cine quality video for McCarran that it actually is not you know it's city quality footage in a Karen that is quite bag of all I suppose Blackmagic bangable cine camera wasn't exactly a catchy name right who cares what it's called really quiet Doris if you like less syllables because it's all about the image and this is where it doesn't disappoint it's to be hard to beat the video image you get from this from any Kara freaking dollars or less and this is from an tiny little sensor part of the appeal of the image is this super clean shadows you'll get has jus native ISO 400 and 3200 but their changes to the upper gain circuit 1250 so ISO 1600 will probably look better than ISO 800 you still get nice-looking shadow detail up to ISO 6400 obviously better than j5 versus j5s – no don't have one of course when I say this is the best way now to staff with filmmaking you don't have to get this of course there are things like the Sony a7 series which are great the Sony a7 3 you get things like continues autofocus good low-light good dynamic range and then there are cameras that are better for vlogging like say the Canon EOS our crop cop cop or the JH 5 as good as these options are for video and perhaps better for things like YouTube their stills cameras that do video quite well the Blackmagic is a cine camera with features meant for serious video users and arguably has much better looking colors than both the Sony and Panasonic but bearing in mind that image you can get from the Blackmagic Design Pocket cine camera 4k for that price that's pocket money save the best for last $1300 11 hundred quid that is ridiculously cheap it makes getting into filmmaking affordable to a lot of people and that will beat a carrot that looks good feels well built or fits in the pocket that does less anytime so there we have it it's always nice when there's a carrot that's had as price watered down but not its features Sydney Kara's can cost you a bomb but this is proof that doesn't need to cost you an arm and a leg now I'm just gonna finish on the tweet from a guy called chef daddy and daughters up one person or two people anyway he said wish you would produce some more how-to videos again your old stuff was comedy gold I love watching everything you create but care reviews are getting stale I'm totally feeling you because it has been just product after product after product but it has been nuts it's Photokina season it's everybody's announcing then new products so it has just been product after product after product and there probably will be a few more products after this but I'm gonna try my best I'm gonna get back into the whole routine of some varied content all right so yes please be patient me I don't want it to be all product reviews also but before I say please subscribe and take all that like button one last shout out to the sponsor this video Squarespace if you ever want to build a website it's the perfect place to go it makes things easy for idiots like myself because it's got templates and it's got such a easy user interface so yeah if you want to build a website please do check them out thank you with a load of templates to choose from award-winning 24/7 customer service a simple way of How to Load a Holga Camera

How to Load a Holga Camera

hello my name is Kai and today I'm going to show you how to load a holdup first thing you need to do is decide what format you're going to shoot with the whole guy there are two choices the camera normally ships with the six by six mask in place that's this one in here and with it you get twelve six by six negatives you also get this other mask you with this mask you'll get sixteen negatives six centimeters tall by about four and a half centimeters wide I like shooting this with four the square negative so that's where I'm going to put in place here now when you do that the other thing you need to do is set the counter window to the correct number top numbers is sixteen bottom is twelve the error on the slide has to point up the number of exposures you're going to going to get we're going to get twelve so we leave it in the bottom position next we take the empty film spool and put it in the take up position now there's a little tab at the top connected to the one your knob and that fits in right with the slot in the end of the foot pick up spool so line those up drop it in I like to turn the winder knob till the slot in the take-up spool is facing the top I guess while we're in here at the other feature I want to point out of the new end models visit these foam strips of rubber inside the film compartment just one on each side now these are really important because that takes up the slack out of the film and that's important because you don't want a loose exposed roll of film when you take it out of the camera the film spools to loose what will happen is the ends of the film will get flashed next step take your roll of film in here remove the little paper band here I take it off completely drop the new role in the left side here pull it across and I'm going to stick the end of the film tab here into the take-up slot let's start to blind let make sure that the film stays centered between the school as you provided that a little bit come on again and try that again I know let's line up changes on there can I put the film back on now watching the counter window we start whining and it takes a little while so be patient so see somewhere else going by little though so I'm gonna slow down a little bit what Kodak film you'll see there it is the word Kodak and then the number one there we go cameras ready to shoot one thing I like to do I don't tape up the whole camera anymore the new 120 n models are very white tight but to this little red one to counter window if you're out shooting and bright sunlight light striking this window can flash through the film so what I like to do this take a look a bit of black masking tape and cover it and then when I'm ready to come to wind the film I kind of pick it up and I look at it naturally what you're seeing on the back of this camera is another modification I've done to this camera it's called a Velcro mod and with it I'm able to attach a Velcro to keep the back on securely and also with the velcro I have this little cover here that keeps the counter window covered with a little bit neater than you can tape if you want to know how to do that mod I've actually made another video on showing how to do that and there we go one Holga ready to go out and shoot

$75 Camera Challenge - Kai vs Lok!

$75 Camera Challenge – Kai vs Lok!

oh look at this how convenient is Locke and Kai in the same building doing videos together what are we doing don't know all right well basically the most common question we get asked is I haven't got a lot of money I'm poor I'm broke what carrier can I get so with not a lot of money say $75 what can you get so of course when you think of $75 we are actually talking about secondhand camera because secondary camera is really good a lot of them really good bargain and they would be worked really well yeah well this was the challenge we set ourselves what did you get look I've got this ha ha was an even love because I've got a evil and xf3 I can't Hector I can't remember which one to which it's as one of those entry-level antiques basically now this comes with 18 to 55 millimeters every point five to five point six I mean useful shiny as well yeah really I mean it's it's very subtle Karen optical steadyshot oh yeah so I got this for actually around 70 70 70 us with the land that's disgusting even even the empty field not indifferent that portafilter comes with food for free use the same battery as my a 7s2 because this camera tongue comes with net okay no you're not gonna cheat and use your spare a some batteries are you well I can include it in my budget and but but okay what's upon they actually buy it oh okay I'm broke I haven't got any money I bought a camera that for $75 $70 but I just happen to have some batteries already for a camera that I don't own no how much is this better is it's not expensive I will just add to a final hold hold sorry the official one is over $50 Oh actually you can find a dollar one from Taobao but it might explode in your face lakhs carry cost $70 extra batteries equals cheat okay that's a lovely caring look but this is what I've got for my money note this this is my lens well no lens I've got a packet Haribo sweets from the company that I bought this from so it's con it's gone full circle from Germany German German product all the way to UK and I've just brought it back here you go Germany take care o sweets back lends itself for the length mom obviously is just a lens it's a 28 to 18 millimeter but it's an EF lens so it should be full-frame even got a free UV filter just like you yeah bigger one as well but anyway that's my lens camera your cameras with me though for some reason get that we first said we get our own camera but he get it and got me to God go pick it up in Hong Kong yeah so my custom color do know it I mean how are you going to show people in UK that you can get this for $75 you can't what is you can tip on Hong Kong yeah but it's here now so I got it annoy and that's a top tip if you've got friends use them I mean properly use them just abused their trust that's because if to pay Hong Kong you know the world is your oyster for shopping right there yeah so I got this saved a bit money on shipping shipping would be really expensive so there we are save money I just tuck it in the check in so let's hope they feel well I'm pretty sure that flap was no he's missing work is correct here I don't know it's really there your boat no no idiot turns on and it comes with a free CF card 32 megabytes excellent it's gonna be just like a film days even worse yeah I remember when I was at university long time ago this was the hot thing right then so and I've got two LCD screens yeah look at that means top LCD screens I've got two on the back it comes with a battery so that's that guy have to empathize commit if this original original battery I I don't even know i just bought bought any random and it's a DSLR so it should focus well compared to mirrorless of that generation this is going to be the best carrier to learn your skills to pick up your skills with rather than that and what we're gonna do today is do a bit of shooting best but obviously these are secondhand options let's have a look at what new carry can get for $75 this is an amazon find look at that it's also got a flippy screen CMOS just seem all around power will be learn whole thumb look at the thighs off that man look at that it's well not only dirt I mean compared to that it's caught a macro lens come with so it's interchangeable lens camera that's nice that's done turn therefore no Full HD that's that's a real button smooth soon yeah sort of thing is this is sort of like the elm Karen the fail carer if we have to resort to this in our tests then that gets marked down and we basically use the challenge that sounds a lot like another TV show Top Gear yeah now to be honest Top Gear copy Top Gear now don't think so it's fine mmm stiff competition with that in mind we took to the streets to figure out which one is the best bar and yep we yeah as I mentioned I don't even remember which one it is every basically that's one of their entry level camera and the fact it's just I can finish it in like 20 seconds because it's a percolator 16 megapixel but you're not going to use a purse it's not going to be useful that's it anyway you say your specs can be mentioned in 22nd this it's a DSLR and that's it that's all you need to know it's a cannon which old heck yeah but it's all totally even canons it bending link well not yet but they they've got a new us are now for the great thing with Canon is that they don't evolve much over years so basically when you're getting this you're getting something that's not too different to what you can get now so I did all tech now they're not moving forward anyway so this is gonna win quite clearly future okay carry where I can I can't have any more chaos in the last 48 hours I've had five different currywurst s– visit my currywurst bang the gym spending real money can take anymore fast food I'm craving the salads are ready okay let's pop this baby oh look at that was that mean CVC oh no no way it's broken already is it no okay there we are I don't know what CBC means but there we are we're picking up new friends on the way this is like we're like hitchhiking but instead of we haven't got car and you're not gonna be able to ride me we're just walking there so it's basically photo walk let's go take some photos I've only got capacity of fruiting images on this memory card more so this is really tough I have to be very conservative with my CF card cuz that's only designed for several pixel images of 8-bit characters and we've locked showboating by taking literally several shots I had to do something about that well doesn't matter I'm the one who are actually taking photos and despite a six years old old camera look how much I can recover from it raw file okay so I'm not actually taking any photos yet but we should start comparing cameras oh yeah we thought you haven't taken you know I've changed back to JPEG fine which means I get nine shots at one card but I've got a secret on my sleeve let's go let's bit let's go take some pictures first let's compare image quality with these two cameras it's going I've been or idea taking photos like I can take quite some but hang on memory cards did I have inclusion with it no so you've added stuff that you already own into it I don't have a thick heart when somebody who does it again can't afford a camera how much is that okay I add into the total width shouldn't you be asleep in 75 let's show the actual total of locked kit right here camera $70 exploding battery $8 crap 16 gigabyte SD card five dollars that's still over $80 but he uses Sony batteries and SanDisk SD cards cheat loyalist let's take pictures of the bloody Cathedral this noise I could quite useful I mean 55 millimeters equivalent to 80 to use no one everything I keep accidentally pressing the buttons on the camera because it just so small my phone is always on the repay button and then my palm is always only all of the potential basically that's not my only problem of this camera though can't really see the whole school but I'm not going to let kind you mark about that I'm not quite sure about my framing are we gonna do that image Concha comparison them let me just change it let me think cool I've only got two shots left so I don't know if I'll be able to potato sure let's try a give into a sort of JPEG yeah but now you're trying to take one shot of raw LED and I don't have problems that no but I did notice what lot was having fun with those yeah yeah frame is it lightly poppin so it takes a full frame it I mean it takes a full image I think though it must be okay also a bit of problem and I'm Paisley I don't know what a picture I'm using if I use a mo I can really see the aperture and then when I go to settings that's a lot of auto on auto I don't know what that means at all that's why it's all true to be honest but the amazing thing that clarified all let's get you up it works it works in theory yeah but unless let's come now it's not let's compare image quality then I think this we tear that and you are how many years between Z will has to change five it's all about the chaos let's find out oh okay I've got I've got one shot to take this now so we're testing a number of things with testing dynamic range sharpness so let's make sure that the aperture is quite a bit more than option that's not let's not tell a lot I've got something that's gonna be reasonable sharp phone cards for now there we are now I have to match the exact framing with my sony oh wow there's a high quality high politics I call it his queen actually I the one of the problem is that I don't know what ever children I do okay black head thank you take a visual that's the thing about digital age you can just take more than one shot I mean you can't just keep quiet well you know what image quality isn't everything is it the best carrot the one you have with you and all that stuff all the camera that I have because by stone D is sharper and more Olympic ring spend the less megapixel cannon whatevs anyway I filled my card by taking that one short so it's time for the trick up my sleeve or in my bag hashtag Norland it's usually when I'm back updated when I back up my videos it blinks it's got four ladies and then it finally fills up went straight to four LEDs and then I think everything's backed up you can back it up yeah look this is just just you know you've got your SD cards yeah I've got this it just happens to be in my bag you've lost them indeed by polyp anymore you got that coming I'm a black calendar but it's not too expensive but now if this could be for like computer stuffy that specifically for cameras SD cards and selling batteries I might have this to back up my my computer do so whoa this wireless drive things but from one mighty line Wow if Kai can use this then fine I could use my only SD card in battery day so move on in this in this next test we're gonna see which one is the better carer for sports in action a lot can't even see what Modi's on in a minute I know what more than speed where Leo I'm not sure what the other three time using it doesn't matter doesn't matter I'm gonna take a burst here we are continues burst oh it's gonna be six shots I mean the buffer it doesn't matter what a buffer is because I can only take six more shots so there's plenty of cyclists taking a nice little cycle down here let's focus let's get some in focus shots of some cycles hang on it's gone down to four shots now what's it do pumped up guys so I guess I just moved it I think I just moved it yeah I just looked her and they said no I don't want to take any more shots for you okay 22 we live in the future 22 images it's almost like filmed yeah we finally yeah finally on pair with wheel okay well we have to take shot of the same person right camera doesn't I'm doing bird that's all I sure yeah are you using continuous AF it's a factory beep everything called thought yeah I was doing single put no I shot no that's it's accurate though it doesn't matter if it's continuous pop that's accurate look at that really put it back on computer ok I need to back up the 300d AI servos in sport mode it's not very good though I thought I'd take a load of single shots instead I could get some in focus shots but not really good for sports with LOC Sonique our entry-level mirrorless of 2012 it's also not very good at sports if you can call the sports thus the conclusion is we should have skipped this test next so we are going to go over there now look I've got this very special place to show you I mean I know you would love this kind of stuff let's go this is Basilica of Saint Ursula Church I know Locke likes interior design this place is alleged to have had 11 thousand virgins not Richard runs and staff killed and married it with the walls of the golden chamber decorated with the skulls and bones oh my god there's pointing wrong face to say oh my god isn't it I mean poor buggers didn't guess I lost their heads and then up is a frickin feature wall decoration on a lighter note oh the lone high performance is better unlock Sony camera I converted mine to black and white to cover up all the crap loads and noise just being in this room is made them sweaty I mean freaky how just just look at them just decorated you know most people go for wallpaper or liquor pain bones stones not really my thing bit gothic but we didn't play for long because we have to do this lick test which will be quite inappropriate to do influence of where human remains right I think of something okay selfie test because selfie essential these days almost like double class law by we don't have couple double cast or anyway selfie is the second thing most important thing on the camera ever Oh conveniently oh yes that's convenient isn't so that's really convenient rip up yeah but half your screen isn't working too but I can't get to me hey son easy okay now this is gonna be a bit problematic with mine because why this is 44 millimeter equivalents so I need to be back a little bit okay I recognized pretty good what covering it I don't think you could call it filthy there you go out Instagram that that's that's good quality that's a good quality image that's good quality good job Bethany oh look that's really good you're framing it pretty good of course boom there we are his video cameras run out of battery so it's just left with my mic j JH v mighty JH v still going strong in your face okay let's go get the follow me is the follow me so close in your mind yeah I can flop with this okay it's got 1080 capability oh I will let me guess your next test is gonna be video well one problem is that I can use ansible because I can't take my eyes just be right here is P mode and then half of my screen is broken so and and only period by it works I will copy yeah I'm C test hi actually he's on my blank area on the screen I think he's in the zone seems my cannon had lost out in all the other tests to a Sony so not much has changed over the years I thought it wouldn't be any shame to pull something else out of my bag of tricks it's great because it's just like yours okay the dynamic range of that actually we've got all the ways that we can feel the video quality is not high in any definition despite having fhd written on the camera if you want a good video camera you buy a Canon Sydney camera so hurt that a lot from the convent boy years ago oh if you want to take video you fire camcorder so yeah just I'm just gonna take stills still about you you don't need the best camera is the one that you had with you ten years ago last year how's the video comes out yet because I can't be justified by this this Queen to be honest I can't even judge how these photos have come out because the screen is tiny and look at that when you zoom in maybe that's actually how the image looks we can however judge which came as the best based on our fara testing no image quality locks Sony well and truly dicto of my canon in a nice way body features the Canon might won't have a rear LCD screen has barely bigger than a postage stamp but at least it works and everything functions win for Canon AF although the kind of focus was a bit slow and had the odd missed shot there were more miss shots with a Sony yep old-school mirrorless but then the Sony wins with a selfie test thanks to the flip screen and video mode because it has a video mode so would be a win for Locke Sony but unfortunately he has to be thus qualified for spending way too much over the budget says a win for me yay we're back we're finished playing with our new toys new old toys I think the conclusion is this old camera is old but still gold to be honest I think I mean you can't beat that in terms of well bang for your buck maybe yeah this is quite amazing but because of that's because look the screen is broken yeah but you can't if you can pay a little bit more you can get a not booked and then some might consider the price of getting into a hobby photography too high but in those situations the focus is too much on the gear you don't need the newest gear the latest tech the best features to enjoy taking photos and learn the craft the photos might not necessarily hold up to the most average of current cameras but then neither does advice you thought if you idiots can use the $70 camera who gets them ok picture you can you can do – and you and you maybe know you and you and you and that's it thank you for watching subscribe if you happen yeah and then a little play about with like button if you want you know gives a thumbs up and the phone and a share but shares its share with your kids and your cat and your cats and you know all your other pets with eyes totai doesn't help if they don't have eyes goldfish yeah what worms don't have eyes today
