The fascinating thing about him is that
nothing seems special about him. Not paticularily fast. Not especially vigorous. Toni Kroos Goal! His special skill
is being able to see the game differently than the others. I know people might think I’m crazy, but it’s important for me
to see white shoes when I look down. Otherwise I’m not happy. Those are socks. We love being at home
near the kids. We live like an old married couple. Calm and composed. He gets that from his grandma.
– From me? Another great piece of advice from Grandpa: “Don’t run too much in the first half.
Save energy for the second.” I often follow that one. When you recognize the talent, you try to get your kids into professional football. With 16 he just left. I cried a lot during this time. You grow up very quickly. I was often told how great I was
and how well I was doing, but I never got to play. Clubs have to make tough decisions. That was a tough decision,
maybe even the wrong one. Toni Kroos, he shoots.
Goal! Goal! You’ve got a player from Bayern Munich who just won the World Cup. You can’t get much better than that. That summer was fun. He is never nervous at all. The very greatest players
are mentally strong. The brain decides much more
than the feet do. Toni Kroos truly is
the personification of the best of what other countries see in Germany. German craftsmanship,
German seriousness German sunburn. He is one of the greatest conductors German football ever saw.
