  1. I'm really glad you did this, a Gyro is one of my favorites. But to all the uninitiated out there, its Gyro (yeero) and "Gyros" is plural. You eat "a Gyro."
I just don't know if I can get my head around pork Gyros… only thing that tastes like lamb and beef is… Well, ya. lol
The sauce should have a little mint and the pita a wrap instead of a pocket. Cabbage? Umm, tomatoes and lettuce.
This could be called a "Gyro inspired pork roast sandwich in a pita pocket." But that's about where it stops.
I have no doubt that this is delicious. I have a grill that size with the same type/size rotisserie and it does a great job. But, to a true Gyro enthusiast, I gotta call a sheep a sheep and a pig a pig, on this one.

  2. So how about some Al Pastor tacos? It’s basically the same thing, but with different spices, pineapple and corn tortillas.

  3. No matter how you pronounce it, with a J or a G. Doesn't matter who came up with it first, The Turks or the Greeks.
Mint or no mint in the Tsasiki. In the end only one thing matters. Does Denise thinks it's yummy. 🙂

  4. Well I asked for European flavor last episode, and here it is. Also, don't listen to all the Pronunciation Police, you say it however you want to. Another great video.

  5. This is a pretty cool version, I kinda do something similar but with lamb. I think this would be perfect for people who don’t care for lamb. Very nice video guys.
Hey!! Try your recipe with lamb😜

  6. Isn't a gyros made with lamb?

Here in Australia it's spelled "yiros" so us Anglos get the pronunciation right. Melbourne has the world's second biggest population of Greeks outside of Athens.

When I went to a place in California selling "gyros", the Greek owner loved me using the right pronunciation – Americans say "gyro" as in gyroscope.

  7. Great video. Looks great but my Greek Ears died a little every time you said Gyro. 😜😜
Just saying. My Dutch would probably be terrible.

Quick tip, say it like you were saying the word Year, and then add the O at the end.

    Keep Grilling!

  8. Wow! I never considered using pork to make gyros. What an awesome recipe. Looks delicious and I know what I'm going to be cooking next.

  9. Pitmaster X I started to watch this got interrupted, then started again at the beginning the next day (because it looks too good to watch in parts). I would swear you're pronouncing "gyros " differently, did you go back and audio dub it?

  10. i love all your videos but there is a major thing i disagree with……….gyros should ALWAYS be done over lump charcoal for the true authentic flavor.

  11. so funny pronouncing the Greek word gyros haha. always wanted to do that at home … only I would go for beef instead of pork.

  12. GYROS is made ONLY with PORK (ther is a version with chicken)… KEBAB is made from LAMP.. And tzatziki MUST have DILL inside and is made with strained yogurt

  13. I had some 1€ gyros or souvlaki in Greece about 10 years ago. They grilled over olive wood scraps. Best damn street food I've ever had. We still talk about it and I've wanted a rotisserie ever since. Just keep forgetting. This video is very motivating. A rotisserie is on my Christmas list!

  14. Bro @Pitmaster X

There is no tzatziki without garlic….Seriously :))) put 2-3 knobs into mortar and pestle and mix it with the other ings 🙂 then you tell me !

  15. Do Lomo al trapo, is very good https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lomo_al_trapo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-4PXMyzOQY

  16. Ik was pas nog in griekeland en heb maar 3 keer gyros gehad omdat ze het niet hadden in het hotel waar we waren maar toen we naar athene gingen pfffff nog nooit zo iets lekkers geproeft

  17. WTF GYROS LMAO ,This is Çağ kebab from TURKEY! source: https://www.wikizeroo.org/index.php?q=aHR0cHM6Ly9lbi53aWtpcGVkaWEub3JnL3dpa2kvQ2HEn19rZWJhYsSx

  18. I am Greek, is one of the very few time that i see a video on youtube with γυρος that has actual meat and not minced lamb… i dont know what kind of marketing or advertising has been done but we dont eat minced meat in our γυρος here 😛 its a great take on gyros Pitmaster X… next time try to put some ultra thin slices of pork belly (the meat-y part) and if you can find some beef fat or even lamb fresh suet to give extra and natural fatty-ness… 10 out of 10 from a Greek… well done 🙂

  19. This is Turkish.. it's not heros… its gyros… and u dont use pork… muslims don't eat pork… so sorry this doesnt fit the greek or the the turkish culture… u basically made mexican street taco meat.
